Past Exhibit Nov 2017 Exhibit at Frederick Community College, Frederick MD The Quiet Within The Noise In 2016 I embarked on a month long visit to the sacred land of India. The first couple of weeks were devoted to deepening my yoga/meditation practice with Pandit Rajmani Tigunait and Rod Stryker at The Himalayan Institute's recently completed ashram, in the mountains of Khajuraho. There were forty of us from all over the world who embraced the rigors of daily practice along with excursions to the city of Khajuraho, for sightseeing of the ancient sacred shrines and to soak up the local culture. The latter part of the trip took me to Delhi, where I witnessed the exuberant markets and places of grave poverty. Then onto lush exotic Keerala, on the Indian Ocean, to experience the ancient healing art of Pancha Karma. There is a sacred darkness that unfolds in the ruins of India, there are harsh places, echoes of ancestors and many uncertainties. This body of work reflects the beauty of these most unique and sacred places, the colors and sounds of the ancient evenings, the quietness of the shrines, the gentleness of the people and the cacophony of this hallowed land. I have lovingly called this work "The Quiet Within The Noise"
